Lenovo has added another new notebook to their line up with the launch of the Lenovo X130e, which is an 11.6 inch notebook that comes with a choice of Intel and AMD processors.

The 11.6-inch notebook appears to share many similarities with its predecessor in terms of feel and looks, but with some notable improvements to build quality. The 4 pound (1.81kg) notebook will have a thicker bezel with rubber bumpers on the side, 33 percent stronger corners in case of angled drops and a 1.2mm thick plastic cover for the monitor. While the larger bezel doesn’t exactly make the notebook more visually attractive, it does mean that the X130e could be more worthy of the brawny ThinkPad name compared to its predecessor.

Deeper in the notebook, the rugged X130e offers users an option between a Core i3-2367M, an AMD Fusion E-300 or a Fusion E-450. By extension, the netbook may thus be outfitted with integrated Intel HD 3000, Radeon 6310 or Radeon 6320 graphics, respectively. RAM starts at 2GB with up to a 500GB HDD and Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI, VGA, multi-card reader and Ethernet connectivity options. Unlike the X120e or X121e, the latest model also comes with RapidBoost with a promise of under 20 seconds of bootup time. Battery life is expected to last for up to 8.5 hours.

Other specifications include HDMI, VGA, two USB 2.0 ports WiFi, Bluetooth and a multi format cardreader. The ThinkPad X130e will be available this December 20th starting at $469.
